Consultations

To book an appointment, please call our reception at 08 9349 3555. Due to a high volume of incoming calls, our staff may not be able to promptly address your call. In such instances, we kindly request you to send an email to a.malik@globalphysiotherapy.com.au, and we will promptly return your call to confirm your appointment. For urgent appointments, please request your referring doctor to contact us directly. Prior to your appointment, we ask that you complete the provided form, as it contains crucial information about your medical history and other pertinent details, enabling us to utilize our time with you more efficiently.

What to expect

Initial appointments typically span 20 to 30 minutes, encompassing a thorough assessment and examination by our neurologist. Following this, the neurologist will discuss the diagnosis, recommend further investigations and treatment, with a detailed letter sent to your referring doctor outlining the findings.

Please plan to arrive 15 minutes early for registration. It is advisable to jot down any questions you may have for your physiotherapy session.

Consultation fees

As a private medical practice, Global Physiotherapy attracts a Medicare rebate for most services. However, being a private practice, there are additional out-of-pocket expenses. Consultation fees vary for complex and non-complex cases, and fees for physiotherapy sessions differ based on complexity. The receptionist will provide you with a fee estimate at the time of booking. While we prefer payment via Credit Card / EFTPOS, we also accept cash and cheques.

We generally do not handle patients related to insurance, worker’s compensation, or medicolegal matters. If applicable, please discuss this with our reception staff before scheduling an appointment.

What to bring?

Please bring the following to your appointment:

  • Referral letter from your GP, family physician or other doctors.
  • All medications or a list of medications, including doses.
  • Medicare card, Veterans’ Affairs card, Age or Disability Support Pension Card.
  • MRIs and CT scans; copies of results of relevant tests, and any other relevant information.
  • A friend or family member. This is optional.

To change or cancel an appointment:

If you need to change or cancel your appointment, please notify us at your earliest convenience. Failure to cancel an appointment without 48 hours’ notice incurs a fee of $100 for missed new patient appointments and $50 for missed follow-up appointments. This fee is payable before rescheduling your appointment.

Repeat Scripts:

For repeat prescriptions, please consult your GP. You do not need to visit the clinic for repeat prescriptions unless explicitly mentioned during your consultation.
